It’s official – Prince William and Kate Middleton are now Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. A true fairy tale romance, the royal couple said their “I ‘dos” this morning as the world looked on.

Prince William and Kate Middleton Wedding Photos

William dressed in his military garb and Kate shined in a show-stopping Alexander McQueen gown designed by Sarah Burton. The classic long-sleeve gown featured an elegant lace appliqué bodice and a regal 9ft train. The dress was made with individual flowers hand-cut from lace and hand-engineered onto ivory silk tulle.

The bride was heavily involved in designing the dress – working closely with the designer to ensure it would be a combination of both the traditional and the modern, yet in keeping with the Alexander McQueen vision and attention to detail.

Her elbow-length veil was made of layers of soft, ivory silk tulle with a trim of hand-embroidered flowers. Her something borrowed was a diamond ‘Halo’ tiara by Cartier – lent to her by the Queen. The couple couldn’t look more royal if they tried!

The bridal party included Prince Harry as his brother’s best man and Pippa Middleton as one of Kate’s bridesmaids.

They exchanged vows at Westminster Abby in London, the same place William’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth wed in 1947.

It was a sweet wedding for Thai actress Paula Taylor and her husband Edward Buttery who held their wedding celebrations just a few days before Christmas. Although the two were officially married earlier in Hong Kong, they chose to hold a formal wedding in Thailand on December 22, 2010. The beautiful wedding took place at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Bangkok with many guests from the Thai entertainment industry.

(Above) Paula and Edward cut their wedding cake… with a sword! (Below) The bouquet toss and all the press to capture it.

After secretly getting engaged over a year ago, Paula Taylor announced that she would marry her Edward Buttery, the Chinese-British heir to a Hong Kong based shipping business.

On December 9, 2010, they were legally married at the LFK Hotel in Hong Kong. They both signed their marriage certificate at the Hong Kong City Hall. The initial ceremony was celebrated quietly with only close friends and family members of the groom and bride. Among those in attendance were Janie Tienposuwan, Nana Raibeena, Ase Wang, VJ Woonsen, Janesuda Pantoe, and Petch Boonyapa Benjarongkul.

Shortly after the ceremony, Paula twittered “I am now officially MRS PAULA TAYLOR BUTTERY”.

I’m a huge fan of Asian celebrities – their weddings always seem to be so over-the-top and they aren’t shy in front of the press, either. I’m also in love with Paula’s makeup. The natural look is so simple and flattering on her, love it!

Britain’s Prince William and his longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton are officially engaged. The announcement was made earlier this morning via Twitter. He proposed during a vacation in Kenya last month with his mother’s oval blue sapphire engagement ring surrounded by diamonds.

“This was my way of making sure that my mother didn’t miss out on today,” William said as the couple posed for photographers in the state apartments at St. James’ Palace. It may seem eerie to some, since Diana’s marriage was ultimately an unhappy one. But it is a phenomenal sparkler. Kate wore a sapphire blue dress for the press conference to announce the engagement, as Diana did in 1981.

It was a long awaited proposal – Kate had become somewhat of an icon in waiting after eight years of courtship. Royal officials announced that the couple will marry next spring or summer in London, ending years of rumored splits, reconciliations and will-they, won’t-they speculation. The nuptials will be Britain’s biggest royal wedding since Prince Charles married Lady Diana Spencer almost 30 years ago. I’m sure we are all looking forward to a royal show stopper.

The Hills used to be one of my guilty pleasures. Originally we had posted some photos of Heidi Montag’s first wedding dress from season 3 on the old blog. So we thought it would be fun to recap and compare that dress to the one she wore on her wedding day in season 5 last year.

Though the marriage between Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt may be less than perfect (the couple filed for divorce earlier this year much to everyone’s surprise), we really can’t say the same about her dress. Since filing for divorce in back in July 2010, the two have reconciled and officially called off the divorce last week on September 30, 2010. Heidi and Spencer are back together again! Perhaps they will renew their vows and we can see her in yet another dress.

Heidi Montag Wedding Dress
The original dress she tried on in season 3 was a simple satin A-line with beading on the front.

On her wedding day she wore a very Cinderella-like ballgown by Monique Lhullier with a long tiered veil. Sure, the $7,500 princess ballgown, veil and million-dollars worth of jewelry may have been a bit over the top, but it seems to suit her personality just fine.

It seems that Heidi’s taste changed for the more extravagant since season 3 when she thought she wanted something classic and traditional. In the end what she got was the big fairytale wedding. Either way, you can’t go wrong. Which look do you prefer?

I don’t think anyone can disagree that Chelsea Clinton makes a fashionable bride. She wore two custom made gowns by Vera Wang at her July 31 wedding in New York – one for the ceremony and a second one for the reception party. Can you blame her? I mean, what bride wouldn’t want to wear two dresses if she could?

Designer Vera Wang, a Clinton family friend, attended the wedding as a guest.

Her first dress – the more formal of the two – was a strapless organza gown with a layered ball skirt and beaded belt. The skirt was laser-cut for that very distinctive Vera Wang look – a truly unique style. For the reception Chelsea changed into a Grecian-style gown with a narrow, black grosgrain belt. Her equally fashion forward husband, Marc Mezvinksy, wore a custom wool-mohair mix tuxedo by Burberry.

Vera Wang also dressed the bridesmaids who wore strapless bias-cut gowns made of lavender chiffon with plum-colored bows. The designer, a Clinton family friend and guest at the wedding, said it was a “privilege” to dress Chelsea Clinton. She said the bride “radiated joy, youth and happiness.” Now that’s what I call style.
